Motivation is a psychological process that moves a person towards a goal. It is very important since all our behaviors, actions, thoughts and beliefs are influenced by an inner drive to succeed. According to Armstrong, “ motivation is concerned with the factors that influence people to behave in certain ways ” Amstrong(2006) In an organizational level, motivation is commonly used to achieve a high level of performance through their employees. It is not an easy process, since the needs of people, are personalized and hard to satisfy all equally. It is the responsibility of the management to identify the needs of different people and the motivational method to be applied to get maximum output from the employees. According to Maslow (1954), everyone is motivated to satisfy five basic needs and he has aligned those in a hierarchy. According to Delecta(2011), work-life balance defined as “ an individual ability to meet their work and family commitments as well as other non-work responsibilities and activities ”.Delecta.P(2011) This is one of the famous topics among workforce all over the world since people have to interact with various parties within a limited time frame and to perform activities as other than their jobs. People have to maintain the balance between the roles they play in their work life as well as in family life, with minimum conflicts. The balance point of work life and family life is varying from person to person, since some are “working to live” while some are “living to work”.
